You Know You Are A Wheat Farmer's Wife When...

You know you are a wheat farmer's wife when.....
  • being home early means 6 pm
  • you do laundry you get horrendous allergies
  • having lunch with your husband means you have to take the car to the car wash afterwards
  • you find chaff in your bed!!!!
  • your tennis shoes are out, not because you exercise, but because you need them to walk through the stubble
  • you put your baby in the tub and there is chaff floating in there with her
  • your baby and your husband have to have all the merchandise of the kind of TRACTOR he drives!!
  • you're cleaning the entry way and find wheat kernels
  • you find chaff in your babies car seat
  • you are afraid to do his laundry with your babies laundry
  • you can actually comprehend what bushels per acre mean
  • you know how long 150 acres takes to drill, harrow, dig, or harvest
  • harvest/planting = being widowed for a few months
  • it's a crime to use white flour instead of whole wheat flour
  • your husband wants to name your baby after the kind of tractor he drives, and actually succeeds in getting his way
  • the only time during harvest you get to spend with your husband is in the combine
  • you can tell the difference between wheat and barley
  • the town you live in is so small you have to drive an hour to go out to eat
  • your husband isn't allowed to shower in the "nice" bathroom after work
  • getting a truck is not a want, it is a need

  1. Your blog looks great! Of course, having your sweet little child as the star helps... Did your sister help you, or did you do it all by yourself? :)

  2. Okay, so that was Korean. Except not really probably. I tried typing "Awesome!" but the Korean alphabet was turned on. So that's probably just a bunch of gobbly gook. Anyway, LOVE this post. It IS AWESOME!!! We gotta be neighbors someday!
