San Antonio

Days 2-6 of travel Oct 8-12: Jders and I got to go on a Wild Women's Weekend to San Antonio, TX with Farmer Brown's family. I was SO worried that it was going to be a drag with a four month old, but I wasn't ready to ween her yet, or leave her alone, BUT it was a lot of fun. Jders was a trooper. She likes to be out and about looking at things.

The first day was all travel. Here is Jders on her very first plane ride! She did great! She screamed the whole time they were giving out the safety instructions, because it was really loud, but then she was just fine. Her Aunt, Farmer Brown's oldest sister is sitting next to us. She taught me the BEST trick! And some of you may think this is disgusting, but her trick is to go nurse in the bathroom. You lock yourself in a stall, put a cover down on the toilet, and nurse there, then you don't have to worry about covering yourself up in public. GENIUS! I would have never thought of it on my own.

Both Granny Greats on the plane with us.
When we got to the hotel, which was gorgeous and HUGE, (it was Aunt #1's time share, and it was beautiful), we ordered pizza from the yummiest local pizza place. I can't remember the name, but oh I will never forget the crust! We waited for the others, who were coming in on different flights, and then went to bed. The following two picture were the view from our hotel balcony.
San Antonio Court House
The next day we hit it hard and went to the river walk, took the boat ride, ate at a really yummy barbecue place (sorry I forgot the name again), saw the Alamo, and ate ice cream. Some of us were pooped and went back to the hotel after that. The "wilder" ones went shopping.
River Walk (beautiful isn't it?)
The troop on the boat ride.
Jders checking out the water on the river walk.
The Alamo. Jders slept through the whole thing, all 2 minutes of it!
Later that night we went hot tubbing, Jders loves the water! She has the most adorable itsy bitsy tiny weeny yellow polka dot swim suit (no bikinis for this little girl).
Jders is ready to hit the pool!

We periodically had to get out, the pool was too cold, and the hot tub was too hot! Isn't that just life?
The next day we went to this beautiful mall and went to the Imax movie of the Alamo. A lot of us that were there didn't know a lot about what happened in the Alamo, so this helped us understand more.
Aunt #1 bought a small child purse, as demonstrated by the lovely Jders.
After the movie we spent boo coo bucks in a candy store and then caught a shuttle to El Mercado. (The whole trip we didn't have a car, we either took public transportation, the hotel shuttle, or walked. The only time we used a taxi was to get back and forth to the airport.) We ate at El Tierra at the market and it was SO yummy! Hey, I remembered this restaurants name! The market is a bunch of Mexico type shops, we didn't spend too much time in the shops, we're saving that for our next trip to Mexico!
Getting my Nacho Libre on. Nachooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Aunt K at El Tierra. They would sing to you if you paid them, K just got in on someone else's action.
Grandma T bought us all matching shirts. Aunt #1 and I weren't with them when they bought them, so they made us close our eyes and dressed us, when we opened our eyes we all had the same shirts on!
They got a kick out of how Jders zones in on the TV. When we were at the airport there were a million other things going on, but what does she do? She zones in on the TV. Looks like my older brother.

She loved Aunt #1, she would snuggle right into her, frankly I was jealous!
The next day we went to Sea World! It was a lot of fun. It was Granny Brown's first time going to a Sea World, the shows are always fun to watch. I have to say that their shark exhibit wasn't all that great though, nothing compared to the one at the Omaha Zoo.
Jders waiting for the bus that is going to Sea World. We met some characters on that bus!
They don't swim anymore with the whales, kind of disappointing!
We rode the rides. It was great, the lines were short, so you could go as many times as you wanted.
